Athens International Airport
‘Eleftherios Venizelos’
Radar Towers and Support Buildings
The radar tower network at Athens International Airport ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’ has been designed according to the strictest EU specifications and code regulations. The Radar Tower at ‘Kamara’ Hill site is a reinforced concrete structure with a total height of 40m and consists of a 4.20X4.20m square hollow cross-section. Satisfaction of rigorous serviceability requirements is of particular importance. Sensitivity of the Radar systems requires limiting displacements at the top of the structure to extremely low levels.
