Hotel Les Lazaristes,Thessaloniki
The hotel ‘Les Lazaristes’ is situated opposite the monastery of Lazaristes in Stavroupoli, Thessaloniki. With a capacity of 157 beds this is the largest hotel in the western suburbs of Thessaloniki. The main building has six storeys and a penthouse with a total floor area of 7.800 m2. The original building was constructed in 1962 and was used as a tobacco storage facility. To modify the building into a luxurious five star hotel it required its complete redesign. In particular this included strengthening of the structure in order to satisfy modern code requirements and to achieve to-date safety levels in the case of an earthquake, extension of the basement in order to incorporate underground parking facilities as well as other numerous amendments to the building. The project was executed as ‘design-built project’, in order to minimize the completion time.
